Wilderness Education Association

The WEA is a nonprofit organization that promotes professionalism through the following strategies: certification, accreditation, affiliation, membership, program consulting, research and development, and the fostering of collaboration and partnerships with like-minded institutions and organizations. Our goal is to elevate wilderness education and preservation in the minds of students, help develop a land ethic consistent with the ideals of the Wilderness act, and establish wilderness education and outdoor leadership as a legitimate academic and professional field of study.

National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS)

The National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) takes people of all ages on real wilderness expeditions, develops leadership, and teaches outdoor skills and environmental ethics in some of the world’s most awe-inspiring backcountry classrooms. NOLS students become active, positive leaders with skills that last a lifetime.

Outdoor Industry Foundation (OIF) is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 foundation established by the Outdoor Industry Association to inspire and grow future generations of outdoor enthusiasts. OIF’s charter is to increase participation in outdoor recreation and to encourage and support healthier, more active lifestyles through education, partnerships, programs and advocacy. We invite you to join us on this important mission by making a long term commitment to the health of our industry, our public lands, and our nation.
